Preview: Nunsense: The Mega Musical, National Centre For Early Music, September 21 to 23

7:32am Friday 28th July 2006

After the coup of presenting the British premiere of Titanic: The Musical in 2004, York Musical Theatre Company (YMTC) has done it again, this time swapping lifeboats for nuns' habits.

The company will be the first in the UK to perform Nunsense: The Mega Musical, booked into the National Centre For Early Music from September 21 to 23.

YMTC have another new show in the diary too: Hooray For Hollywood will run from October 31 to November 4 in The Studio at York Theatre Royal. This light entertainment will involve the company principals exploring the glamorous world of Hollywood musicals.

Both shows are to be directed by resident musical director Paul Laidlaw, who is devising the Hooray For Hollywood revue. He will hold open auditions for each production on Sunday at Our Lady's Roman Catholic Primary School, Acomb, at times to be arranged with chairman Jim Welsman on 01904 704520 or by email to jim@welsman.com.

These auditions will be preceded by a rehearsal of the audition music at the school tonight from 7.30pm.
